Well the school year is winding down and, and I have finally found some time write another blogger guy. I know it has been awhile, and I almost gave up on this whole thing but I thought I would give it a couple more shots. I just recently got back from vacation in Florida with a couple of my good friends. We had a great time, even though I just called the state of West Virginia to find out how much this nice speeding ticket I received would cost, and lets just say it wasn’t cheap. So Bac or Bonnar if your reading this I am going to need some hours at the sub shop pretty soon. ha.

So I think Its Time for a Little Fun On this Thing

I’d like to dedicate this section to the IDIOOTT of the week or every couple weeks depending on how often I update this thing. If anyone wants to e-mail me with a picture and a story that you think may be deserving of this award feel free. But for now, the first week I have to give it to the little #2 midgett Derek Mcbride. After spending Saturday night with the little guy I could not help myself but just make his night a living hell. I am sure this will be one of many for the little guy.

This Photo was taken last weekend a little bit before the midget proceeded to Flip the beer pong table,and scare people away with his midget ways. Although you have to love this kid, just remember do not call him a German(Even though I think he might be), otherwise his shortman syndrome kicks in and the rest just gets ugly from there.

Another section I would like to try out. Considering the basketball season is pretty much at its finest right now I thought I would post a couple videos that I thought were pretty amazing and something hopefully everyone else will enjoy.

Make a bridge people, make peace with that person you have your grudge with, even if you don’t agree with someones intentions. Be able to look them in the eye and tell them its alright?  But this song doesn’t mean don’t stand up for what you believe in, because it doesn’t mean your wrong, but it also means it doesn’t mean your right. In other words “agree to disagree”. 

 Life’s Not Always about Whats Better For You(I suck at titles sorry)

I learned something interesting in a Sociology class today.  the question the teacher asked was what are the characteristics of a person growing up in the U.S or somewhere along those lines.  A student in my class raised his hand and answered self centered, or narrow minded. My teacher asked what he meant by that. the student went on to say that most people growing up  really only worry about themselves and whether or not they are happy.  the average person does not really put themselves before another person.  although I do think that you should always take care of yourself and make sure shit is straight in your life.  I also thought it was very interesting because for the most part it was true.  When do we ever really care if someone else is ok, times of desperation, death/ sickness?  We always put ourselves before others, we always seem to think we have it worse then others.  Although, times may be rough for us at sometime in our life things are never as bad as they may seem.  Be open minded for a day, make someone else happy over yourself, see where it gets you.

Alright kids I said I would share a little about my friends in this. So here it is, this is what (some) of my friends do in there spare time. sad? No. They just need a hobby Lol I am just playing fellas.  I am not really into the whole Harry Potter deal but for some reason I got dragged into this.  I believe the only reason my face is in it is because answered a simple Question, Slithering or gryffindor? I answered Gryffindor thinking nothing of it. Sure enough it turns into a hit on facebook. Who would have thought?  Now every other day i sign onto facebook getting 6-10 notifications with dumb little comments on these photos of harry potter or should i say Asian potter(sorry strauss). Its ok I would rather be on the good side.  i just have one question though how did Scottrecruit Grebenc( if you don’t know who he is odds are you didn’t go to Lake catholic, he is by far the best/craziest teacher there) to be a slithering?  I know one thing Grebenc in no snake.  One more question for those reading this…you had to know this was coming Gryyfindor, or slitherine.? So yea that’s (some) of my friends there not all this weird don’t worry, we may just have a different sense of humor then others. Lastly, if you want to see more potter pics go to my facebook. Down, But Not Out

Ok sorry it has been awhile since I have had a post, my apologies, Ben has been A little busy, and a few hang ups.  So my computer went down last week which was probably one of “the worst, best thing that has ever happened to me”.  I say worst because I probably spent a good 3 or more days trying to fix it. oh yea and one of those day i spent 6 hours in an office at BG, and they didn’t do a darn thing.  Which later lead to a drive home which wasn’t nice considering money is hard to come by for Ben now adays. But that’s changing next week, thanks to my new job coming, I shall talk about that later though. The reason I said it was one of the best things was because, I got to spend time with the people closest to me which is always nice. Also another reason it was good for me was because it cut me off from the world for a week and i needed that, it felt good, it got me away from worrying about things.  Anyways…….I hope everyone is having a good new year, and staying out of trouble doing so.

 Acoustic Night in Da Dorm

  Today a buddy of mine introduced me to a website  “www.imeem.com/music” if you cant find it google it,  you have to create a account and all that b.s but it might be worth it if you enjoy music.  But it is a website with different peoples music playlists. You can type in any artist or type of music and get thousands of playlists.  I basically wasted my entire night/morning (i say morning thanks to my sleeping disorder a good friend of mine claims i have:-) but I found myself listening to some of the craziest music possible(what else is new).  I came across a playlist with only acoustic music (f’ing amzing), one song you must download if you are reading this “I gotta get through this” - by Daniel Bedingfield it has to be the acoustic version though, give it a couple listens and hopefully you will be hooked.  I basically wasted hours listening these playlists, while I should have been finishing my rough draft essay due tom. Procrastination is a good friend of mine, but I don’t think we can be friends for much longer(a little humor sorry). But  its ok though the paper is only a rough draft. right. Oh yea I also found a new band tonight or I should say this morning, called the John Butler Trio, If you havent heard of them I suggest you look em up, its pretty good music and it puts ya in a good mood.  Well time for me to attempt to sleep, I actually have classes tom. “Would You Not Like To Be”

You ever just have a shitty day and just go home and listen to music?  Well i know I am guilty of it, but dont worry i am not one of those dork emo kids, that is just down for a good slashing of the wrist and some good knar kill music.  When I am having a rough day I like to just sit and listen to a little bit of Mr. David Matthews band, it puts a smile on my face and makes things “fade away to nothing”.  The guy is a mad man and sorry Keith j, if you ever read this I am stealing your words “Lyrical Genius”.  I have been to about 5 of his shows since i have been hooked.  His concerts put me in an amazing state of mind and you will see me smiling, and singing my heart out for a good 3 hours straight (semi homo but it is what it is:-)  I hope one day I can share that happiness with a loved one at his concerts. Mr. Matthews truely has a gift, and i guess you can kinda say i got a little man crush lol jk. I guess it is where i find my comfort right now, kind of wierd once agian but if you know me i am not a nut.  he talks about some crazy stuff in his music and i came across this the other day.”The future is no place, to place your better days” some people may take that in different ways. But i myself being a college student at the moment, found it very interesting.  Stop worrying about the future and what it holds for you. Are you going to be successful. Who knows?  but the only thing you can control is right NOW.  And saying oh now isnt so great but maybe in the future it will be.  I do not feel it is right to say that to yourself.  Make peace with yourself, I cant say dont live with regrets, because i do, but i have made my mistakes just like any human being has in their life.  So basically get your shit straight NOW so you dont have to worry about the future, do well NOW and you will have a great future.  At least that is what I get from it, maybe others feel different, and i say to you “That’s just to dam bad”. Time for some sleep ‘God is Love” Rev Run, or Ben Strachan, haha thankyou and goodnight

Numero Uno

Hello everyone i thought i would give this whole blog thing a try.  I saw a buddy of mine started one and it looked like a good idea for myself too look back on later in life.  My name is Ben Strachan and i am from Mentor Ohio. I love sports i played hockey in high school and am going to try to play agian next year somewhere.  I have a few ideas about what i want to do in a couple years with my life, but i will touch on that later.  In my blog I would like to touch on a wide variety of things, such as sports, family, friends ect…Recently I have just come back to BGSU after a nice long winter break.  It was fun got to catch up with all my friends, although a little hectic at times…. with the family, and friends, but they are always first in my life.  I learned alot over break about people, family, and sports.

#1 i know i said family is #1 but i have to get this out of the way first. cleveland/ ohio sports always find a way to let you down.  But its good to see the brownies coming around and I have good hopes for the future. we need the cavs to step up here pretty soon other wise its goin to be a short June. #2 Family they always come first like i said earlier and was forced to make some rough decision during x-mas time but that is nothing unusual with my parents being divorced and all, but no matter what God is always finds a way to make things work for me and i thank him everyday for that. he also gave me two parents that love me and i am thankful for that because some people dont have that luxury. My mom is my rock and i will do and tell her anything, my dad (or as i call him… pop.. strange i know but i am a little different)but he is also a huge factor in my life although he is a little crazy,!? seems to harsh but ill go with it, he is still always there for me and wants nothing but the best for me. i will get more into them later.#3 my friends, ahh what can i say about my friends….but there amazing and have dealt with me through it all, some more then others but there all there for a reason.  I do learn alot from them although some can be a little crazy at times. I think my biggest fear is losing my friends or leaving my friends, but sometimes they are (replaced also a harsh word but its not intended to offend anyone) with other good people.  But have learned over the past couple weeks, things do happen for a reason and sometimes some people grow apart although, it is not easy some things just have to be done, some people mature some dont, but thats life. i will go more into detail about all of this later but for now I have to wrap this up and do some studying.  Yes Ben Strachan does study….I cant wait to write in this stupid thing agian, its something new……
